These drawings are the result of working directly from nature, both in Africa and in England. The African animals and birds are all wild and thus it is a privilege to be in their company at any time. Much knowledge can be gained from quietly watching them as they go about their daily existences. The symbiosis of life becomes so clear and so apparent out in the wild: how animals, birds and insects and the flora and fauna depend on each other for their own survival and continuity.
